Many of us have fantasied about our wedding day since we were young girls. What it would look like? Where it would be? What dress we would wear? However, many don’t consider the cost until the day is actually approaching.
Every woman wants to look their absolute best on her wedding day. I would consider the dress being one of the most important features of a girl’s big day. With that being said, many women may feel that they must spend a great amount of money on their wedding dress to look and feel like a princess. In the US, the average cost for a wedding is a little over $38k and for a wedding dress, $1700. In addition to wedding dress spending, money is also spent on shoes, hair, makeup, nails, and accessories. That’s a large sum of money to be spending on ONE day! What if I told you that you can save by renting your dress at a fraction of the cost. Renting is definitely a great option to save, rather than spending thousands of dollars on a dress.
Where can I rent my dress?
Today, renting is the new buying, and I decided to rent my wedding dress for my big day with Laine London. Established in 2018 and based in Atlanta, Laine London is on a mission to provide ALL brides-to-be the ability to say “I Do” in the dress of their dreams without breaking the bank. Ranging from sizes 0-24, they make it easy as 1, 2, 3 to find the dress you love, rent it, then return it. Men rent their tuxedos, so why shouldn’t women do the same and rent their wedding dresses. By the way, it’s a dress that we will only wear one day, and it’ll only take up space in your closet once the wedding is over. For me, it’s important to have a nice dress on my wedding day, but not so important to hold on to it forever. If you asked me, renting if the way to go!
How does it work?
If you’re not sure about renting your wedding dress, Laine London has a Bridal Buy Back program that allows you to purchase a brand new dress from them and return it after your wedding for up to 50% of your money back.
Laine London offers 3 types of appointments:
1. A 1.5-hour Wedding Dress Consultation if your date is set and are ready to say “Yes!” to the dress!
2. A 60 minute Wedding Dress Consultation if you’re just looking and not quite ready to say “Yes!” to the dress
3. Laine London also has veils, sashes and other accessories for rent (and sale) if you’ve already found your dream dress. By the way, a veil can cost between $250-$400 or even more!!! So, I certainly plan on renting my veil with them as well!
You may be wondering if a rented dress will fit you perfectly. Well don’t worry because, Laine London also does in-house alterations to ensure your dress fits you perfectly!
Are Designer Dresses offered by Laine London?
Laine London partnered with designer Justin Alexander to help make women’s specials day magical. I loved the beautiful Justin Alexander dresses that I tried on so far because, they made me feel like royalty.
All of the dresses were so beautiful, making my decision to choose the right dress pretty difficult, as I fell in love with several of them. This Romantic Ruffle Skirt Ball Gown by Justin Alexander gives beautiful layers and V-back that made my short little 5’2 self feel like a runway model. This dress was very close to being THE ONE. But don’t worry, I’m keeping the dress that I chose a secret until my BIG day!
Final Thoughts
Choosing a dress for your wedding day is quite the decision, with an endless array of options that may be quite expensive. Renting your wedding dress, can be affordable and keep your pockets happy after your wedding day. Every woman should have access to this Cinderella experience on her big day with the dress she always dreamed of at a great price.
If you live in or around Atlanta, make sure Laine London is a part of your wedding dress shopping experience. You won’t regret it!
